Our Background

Anglican Development Services of Mt Kenya East (ADSMKE)  is the development arm of the Anglican Church of Kenya Serving communities in Kirinyaga, Embu, Tharaka-Nithi, Meru, Isiolo and Marsabit Counties. It was established in 1979 and registered in 1982 as a company limited by guarantee. It is involved in the building of the capacities of the poor and vulnerable people living in this region through Disaster Risk Reduction, enhancing food and water security and through provision of curative and preventative medical services. All these are geared towards poverty reduction and improvement of the well-being among the populace.

Our Focus

We work with communities in collaboration with relevant Government of Kenya departments and other stakeholders in the region. We develop and apply participatory methodologies to enable target groups to identify their capacities and resources to improve their livelihoods and facilitate their involvement in development initiatives
