Governance

ADSMKE has a two-tier governance system that is geared towards optimizing the best minds to deliver on the organization's mandate, vision and mission. The tiers are as listed:
  • Board of Directors
  • Management and staff

The five diocesan Bishops( Marsabit, Meru, Mbeere, Embu and Kirinyaga) double as board members as well as the patrons

Legal Status

Anglican Development Services of Mt. Kenya East (ADSMKE) is registered as a company limited by guarantees. It was registered with the Government of Kenya vide Registration certificate number C.23883 on 12th March 1982 as Christian Community Services of Mt. Kenya East. On 21st December 2012, it was issued with certificate of change of name to Anglican Development Services of Mt Kenya East. ADSMKE is also registered with the Kenya Revenue Authority and has complied with tax obligations applicable to it.

capacity in finance management

We have strong finance management and procedures in place, the organization uses Quickbooks accounting software to record its financial transactions and maintains separate files for each project

procurement

We have adequate policies and procedures for procurement. These include; competitive bidding for purchases, review of bids by a procurement committee, use of pre-qualified vendors and use of pre-numbered purchase orders

fixed assets

The organization maintains a fixed asset register for all its assets and it conducts an asset verification annually. The assets of the organization have been tagged.
