Humanitarian Aid involves supporting communities affected by disasters with food and non food items so as to save lives
ADSMKE has provided emergency humanitarian assistance to communities affected by disasters for the last 5 years. The humanitarian aid is directed to communities affected by severe episodes of drought leading to food insecurity and floods. The aid is in form of food relief and cash transfer. After emergency response, a rehabilitation or recovery project usually follow to support communities to sustainably support their livelihoods. Various projects have been implemented in this aspect

What we have done

cash transfer
This involved sending money to affected households for a specific period of time to assist in time of drought and hardship. This we did in Igembe North and Sololo.

water trucking
This involved water trucking activity to affected communities in Sololo, Marsabit County supporting over 3000 households with clean water from August to October 2022 with support from Bread For the World - Germany.

animal restocking
A
recovery project in Sololo has been initiated to support residents to recover
from effects of drought. The project targets 300 beneficiaries each receiving 3
female goats and 10 locally improved chicken. This is expected to improve
livelihoods of the target communities. This project is supported by Tearfund
and runs from February 2024-January 2025
