Food and Nutrition Security

We have been implementing projects with the aim of reducing poverty and vulnerability among communities in this region. The projects enhance households access to food through either their own production or purchase. Projects in this area include environmental conservation, responsible and diverse agricultural promotion, expanding livelihood opportunities, promoting a culture of saving and searching for alternative livelihoods

Some of our projects

building resilience

The project was working with 200 households in Tigania located in Meru County. We improved food security through training farmers through Farmer Field Schools on conservation agriculture, poultry rearing, cultivation of dry land crops and other strategies

community food security and nutrition

This project was contributing towards the Zero Hunger Challenge. The target group was 3000 households in four Counties (Isiolo, Meru, Kirinyaga and Tharaka Nithi). It benefited more than 30,000 people in the target regions through exchanges, campaigns and networking

sustainability projects

We have established a number of enterprises that generate incomes that are used to support development work.  These are spread throughout the region.
